Weekly Homework Pages

Homework set 21st October 2020

This week we are using our Maths homework books. Please complete pages 6 and 7. These are called Counting in Multiples and  Counting backwards through zero. Please bring in your homework books for whole class marking on Wednesday 4th November 2020.

Optional Extra Activities

Look through an information book. What do you like about the book and why? Make a list of the features that make the book interesting or useful for the reader.

 

Make a poster explaining how to add and/or subtract using a column method. Make sure to use colours and diagrams!

This week we are using our Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling books. Please complete pages 50 and 51. These are called Apostrophes for missing letters.

We have been looking at mental strategies for addition this week. Practise your number-bond skills using Daily 10 (https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/daily10). These can be found under addition.

This week we are back to our Maths homework books. Please complete pages 12 and 13. These pages are called Rounding. We looked at rounding last week in our Maths lessons.

 We are starting to look at addition in Maths this week. Have a go at writing a word problem for the following question: 4621 + 3378 =

 

We are also starting a new English unit based on information pages. Can you find some interesting facts about your favourite animal that you could include in an information page?

Homework set 30th September 2020

This week we are starting our Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling homework books. Please complete pages 46 and 47. These pages are called Commas After Introductions. This links with our work on fronted adverbials.

Some children have requested some extra activities to complete at home. These activities are in addition to the homework set above and are optional.

Rounding

Use Daily Ten (https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/daily10) to practice rounding to the nearest ten, hundred and thousand. These topics can be found under Level 4.

Adjectives

Create a word bank of interesting words to describe a setting. You could use a book to magpie ideas!
